📌Important Update📌

Hello to all Camden Athletic Club Parents, Members and Associates,

I hope that this letter finds you all safe and happy in these trying times.

In the current climate with the recent confirmed cases in South Western Sydney and tightened rules from the NSW Government it is made both challenging and questionable whether to hold our Memorabilia Collection Day on Sunday 26th July. However determined to proceed I, along with other committee members are in contact with Camden Council to establish a potential plan to move forward with. This being said it is unlikely that the current situation will improve and are therefore also prepared for yet another delay.

Please find attached below the link for NSW COVID-19 updates and social restrictions. We would ask that all of our members remain diligent in their safety and stay informed to best protect themselves in this current time.

The biggest challenge for the club, however, will be the commencement of the 2020/2021 season. As per the NSW Little Athletics Season Camden Athletic Club will plan to commence Friday 4th September as seen in previous seasons. This athletics season faces a number of logistical issues such as ground hire, extended winter sports and the current social restrictions in place. These challenges will mean that our athletics season will be run on a slight alternative this season with more details to come as a more clear picture is given of the guidelines we, the club, must follow. To combat this Camden Athletic Club will be working in conjunction with the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with restrictions and that a safe plan is developed so that all of our athletes and parents can continue to enjoy club competition in all of our traditionally programmed events.

Registrations for the coming 2020/2021 season will commence from 1st August online which will be followed by our registration collection dates later in August, pending Council approval.

Our AGM for the upcoming season will also be held as soon as it is safe to do so and will determine our exciting new committee for the clubs next season. Further information surrounding this will be made when a decision is reached and the appropriate notice will be given to all of our members.

Understandably there will be a large quantity of athletes who are impacted by the extension of the winter sport season and who will be unable to attend the commencing weeks of competition. Should any athlete, member or parent at the club have concerns surrounding this in regards to competition points or fees; the Committee is devoted to create fair alternate pathways which would suit the situation.

In these challenging times, I ask that you continue to support our club and the Committee as we effectively prepare for the new season and continue to plan the safest, most inclusive way forward for all of our athletes, members and parents. Should anything in this letter require clarification or should any questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact me at the club.

Best Wishes,

Gavin Brimble

Club President
